Waikato Trades Academy Annual Awards Evening...
On the 9th November it was time for Wintec Te Pūkenga & participating Waikato Trades Academy schools to come together and recognise our wonderful ākonga for their achievements and hard mahi at their 2023 Annual Awards Evening.
The Awards ceremony is an occasion to celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of top performing ākonga. During this event, we recognised students' commitment to learning, while celebrating student success with family and friends.
The keynote speaker was past student Keaton Hester who celebrated the support given to him by his family with special mention given to his grandparents. He spoke of his journey through schooling while struggling with dyslexia. Then he talked about how Waikato Trades Academy led him to his present job with RML, a New Zealand based engineering company specialising in production line automation.
Ngaruawahia High School celebrated the success of Chase Williams alongside his parents & his tutors. Chase was awarded a taonga and certificate for Excellence in Landscape Construction & Treework Level 2. Chase presently is employed part-time and saving to attend Wintec Te Pūkenga next year. He will be working towards a Diploma in Arboriculture in 2024. --Whaea Meg
