Under Level 2 schools are considered safe places for students and staff to attend
Under Level 2 schools are considered safe places for students and staff to attend.
The school will have hygiene stations, safety signage and work closely with students and staff to ensure they remain vigilant about our hygiene.
If your child is sick please keep them at home.
If you are dropping your child off or picking them up, we ask that you remain in your car. Under Level 2 we are restricting visitors to the site.
Important Health Messages
Schools are considered to be safe to attend under Level 2. They are controlled spaces and it is possible to know who is on site and who those people have contact with through our sign in and sign out process. We have student information available to easily contact whaanau if contact tracing is needed.
The key public health approach is to minimise the risk of someone becoming infected in the first place and then to be able to identify and contact anyone who has been in close contact with a person, if that person becomes infected. We are minimising the risk by adopting rigorous hygiene practices and having the means to contact trace.
Physical distancing
Physical distancing is a good precaution to prevent the spread of disease. This is challenging in schools so good hygiene practices and regular cleaning are even more important here. This includes staff and students coughing into their elbows, hand-washing and drying, sanitising and regular cleaning of commonly touched surfaces.
Mass gatherings
Educational facilities and transport are not considered mass gatherings because they are managed environments. This means that there are no numbers of people indoors or outside at schools other than what other health and safety measures require. However, we will not be having whole school assemblies.
Mixing of students
There are no restrictions on groups of students mixing with each other on site.
We look forward to welcoming all students to school for their usual timetable classes.

Construction in Progress
Major building processes are taking place at school. Although this will not disrupt normal school operations during normal school hours, I ask that the community stays clear of the clearly marked construction areas.
